A throw bag is a super important piece of safety equipment. We should all carry one and be slick at using it… but nobody wants to lug around more weight than they have to, right?

The HF Weasel is not only compact and lightweight, but it also has 18m of 7.5mm core-mantle floating line with polypropylene outer. This means it’s still thick enough to be functional, even in big water, but without being bulky, heavy, or overkill for packrafters without ambitions for gnarlier whitewater.

More important than its weight is its function. Because of its unique ball-like shape, it’s the most accurate throw bag to throw. It doesn’t stress shoulders, it allows for a consistent throw even at full length, and it doesn’t require you to have arms like Popeye to make it work.

Best practice is being able to carry your bag with you in case you’re separated from your packraft (we’re all between swims, right?!). The HF Weasel can be worn with a rescue belt, cinched at your waist, or attached to your PFD quick release to keep it tidy and out of the way of your back band or puku.
