Packraft Rental
We allow rentals under a select set of conditions, please don't contact us if you fall outside of our terms and conditions, even if you are super experienced tramper, mountain biker, climber, skier, paraglider or have rented from us before.
TLDR: You need to have taken a course with us or another provider who can attest to your PACKRAFTING skills, understanding of rivers, paddling ability and ability to undertake backcountry repairs. You will need at least 2 forms of communication, a comprehensive first aid kit and plans that include (but not limited to) an emergency plan, a communications plan and trip reporting.
Following a review of our Rental Policy, we have adopted instructions standards set out for raft rental. Should any incident occur on the river during your rental, these are the standards we will be held to. These practices dictate that our rental procedures should include and make allowances for:
- screening customers to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills in relation to the intended trip
- ensuring that customers have an induction into any methods of operation specific to the raft and equipment being provided or unusual features
- briefing customers on the river and river hazards and any environmental factors that could influence the safety of their trip
- making sure they have trip reporting, communications, and emergency plans, and
- have specific guidelines regarding alcohol and drug use.
Given all of the above, we will not be able to rent packrafts to individuals or groups that have not attended a course with us or another provider who can provide attest to their skills.
IT IS ESSENTIAL YOU MAKE A BOOKING OR AN APPOINTMENT TO RENT PACKRAFTS FROM US.
Please also be aware that we are a small family business run out of our state of the art storage facility (our garage). My wife, my kids and my dog know very little about our boats and so won't be much help if you rock up unannounced.
All bookings are subject to our T's and C's.
